About Mia
I am a level three performing arts diploma student and have had all my life as experience in the field of choral singing, classical singing, and musical theatre. I would like to expand my experience as I currently do not have much teaching experience. However, I am willing to learn any and all ways possible, and I am optimistic that my skills will be serviceable in an educational setting as I have a passion for teaching the youth of today the wonders of musical expression. I did my work experience in Manor Side Academy, where after school I would stay behind to help students in performing arts clubs and help them refine their skills. I found this extremely enjoyable as I have a charismatic personality that resonates with the children.

I believe that finding a way to resonate with a child's specific needs and interests is extremely important when it comes to expanding their knowledge of music. Especially singing. My method is to have them come in and tell me a bit about themselves to help build a sense of familiarity and comfort so then when I later ask them to perform a song of their choosing, I can write down notes and possible methods to help improve their skills. I then go over the same song after practising said methods and see what improvements have been made. If the child is a more advanced learner, I can then move onto a more difficult task that requires more time and work. If the student struggles in certain areas, then I know where I can work and improve as we continue the lessons.
