About Avery
Hello! My name is Avery, and I am an early childhood educator with real classroom experience teaching Pre-K students and supporting young learners one-on-one. I believe that every child is capable, curious, and full of potential—and my goal is to create a learning environment where they feel confident, encouraged, and excited to grow. I specialize in working with children ages 3–7, and I bring a strong background in early literacy, early math, social-emotional learning, and play-based instruction. My teaching style is gentle, patient, and hands-on. I combine research-based strategies with creativity, movement, and child-friendly activities so that learning feels natural and fun, not overwhelming or stressful. You can trust that your child is learning with someone who is organized, supportive, and truly passionate about helping young learners succeed. I take my role seriously, and I communicate clearly with families so we can work together toward meaningful progress.

As a Pre-K teacher, my tutoring style is very warm, hands-on, and child-centered. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all teaching. Instead, I get to know each child—their interests, their strengths, and what helps them feel confident. My sessions mix structure with creativity so that learning feels natural, not pressured. I use play, conversation, movement, and plenty of encouragement because kids learn best when they feel happy and supported.
My teaching is:
Play-based: We learn through games, stories, music, and exploration.
Multisensory: Kids see it, hear it, touch it, and try it for themselves.
Positive and patient: I celebrate the small wins and help students feel proud of their progress.
Flexible: If a child needs to slow down, we slow down. If they’re excited, we follow that excitement.
Real-life focused: I connect lessons to things children already know—nature, family, routines, playtime—so it all makes sense.
I pull from my experience working in early childhood classrooms, special education settings, and one-on-one environments, allowing me to adjust lessons to different types of learners.
