I always had a very interactive sessions with my students. I always try to give an overview of the topic that I am going to start, initially I explain the basic concepts and then I ask few HOT questions to my students which always involve them in the class and force then to think critically. Every month I conduct a small exam based on the topic I cover in that month, and if required have a separate doubt clearing session, otherwise explain in class. I emphasize students to solve different types of problems in physics. According to my previous record most of my students have secured >=95% in physics in their +2 level exams and not only that many of them have got chance in reputed engineering and medical colleges also.
