About Annie
I started learning Mandarin Chinese at university at the age of 18, so I know the particular challenges facing an adult learner of the language. I lived in China for three years, teaching English and working as a translator, before moving back to Australia to undertake an Honours Degree in Asian Studies. I'm now in the third and final year of my PhD in Chinese linguistics.
With more than ten years experience in teaching and translation, I can explain both grammatical and cultural elements of Chinese in a familiar and easy to grasp way, and guide you through some concepts that we don't have in English--like tones!
