About Daniel
I am passionate about my subject and enjoy teaching in such a way that students are not left behind.
I have a PhD in chemistry and also have undergraduate training in mathematics and physics. During the last 40 years, I have been teaching chemistry to students at university from undergraduate to honours level.
I have also recently assisted engineering students in their studies involving chemistry and physics in addition to specific engineering-related topics such as mechanics, electronics and chemical engineering principles.
Where possible, I will set up online classes for students to practice using the Moodle learning management system.

I believe in linking lessons to real-world applications where possible. Much of the teaching is done by examples allowing students to show that they understand.
I am most proficient in teaching in the English language although I can also teach in Afrikaans which is related to Flemish and can understand limited amounts of Dutch and German.
In a typical lesson, I will usually revise what has been done and then explain the approach and content of the current lesson before continuing.
I am adaptable and can aim lessons at learning levels from Grade 12 (final year high school) to university level.
