About Noé

Half French, half Canadian, I speak French and English fluently. I completed my secondary education at an international school in Belgium where I passed four A-Levels. I carried on with an intensive two-year undergraduate course at one of the best schools in France, the lycée Henri-IV, before completing my history bachelor degree at the Sorbonne and a MA in history at Durham University. Throughout my academic career, I was led to learn and speak languages at various levels, whether as part of my study or for my own interest. Thus, I speak a decent Spanish, a humble Dutch, a beginner's Hungarian and have advanced reading skills in German, as I study the Austrian dynasty of the Habsburgs.

About the lesson

Anyone who wants to study French, regardless of level, is welcome! I have experience tutoring middle school students preparing the Common Entrance 13 + exam and undergraduate students of different levels. I mainly focus on vocabulary, grammar and conjugation in earlier learning stages, and on text-writing and literature in later ones, adapting my lessons to each student's individual needs. But to me, the true key to learn a language is cultural immersion. I discuss French music, cinema, politics, history, geography, cuisine and traditions. All of them are vectors to a better understanding of the language and its speakers, and make the lessons more fun!

Perfect! Noe has been a wonderful teacher. He responded to my needs exactly as I asked. I'm a language teacher with over 30 years experience myself, so not an easy customer! Noe is very versatile - he can teach grammar, help with listen and speak, discuss on a wide range of topics and evaluate exam performance (DELF exam). I highly recommend him

Noé's response
Paul has made tremendous progress in French in the last couple of months. His pronunciation has steadily improved, he has sharpened his reading skills, tackling often complex journalistic articles, and is making significant progress in writing. It is a delight to teach him!

Perfect! Noé is a wonderful tutor- very patient and accommodating with my disability, but keeps conversation at a sufficiently challenging level to expand my command of the French language. He goes the extra mile for instance creating powerpoints to explain grammar issues he'd picked up on me struggling with in my written work. Fantastic knowledge of French history and society to expand my understanding of topics studied in my degree module, and a really fun tutor too!

"I have known Noé's for three years and has often made me benefit from his teaching skills: he shares both his motivation and his serenity, and always corrects one's mistakes with composure. Moreover, his language skills and international experience made him a very open-minded person, attentive to external viewpoints and perspectives."
