About Eva
Apart from my academic teaching experience (see above), I have taught English at a secondary school in the Netherlands and I tutored secondary school students throughout my undergraduate degree in English, German, French, Dutch and History.
In the last year I have tutored six students in poetry, literature and writing English for professional purposes.

I have a PhD from the English Department at the University of Southampton and several years of experience teaching poetry to Southampton undergraduate students.
I can help students to learn how to interpret poems, develop their close-reading skills, recognise linguistic devices and do research into the poem's context.
I can also help students with writing an essay on poetry, from finding a suitable topic, improving research skills, learning how to use online & library resources, planning and structuring an essay, communicating ideas clearly & effectively, enhancing writing skills, to editing your own work.
I am comfortable teaching students at any level, I am currently tutoring GCSE students, but I think that A-level and/or university students could benefit most from my academic experience.
