About Farasat
I hold a PhD in Medieval Islamic History from the University of Leeds, an MA in Islamic Studies from Loughborough, and a BSc in Monetary Economics from the London School of Economics. I also gained a Diploma in Islamic Jurisprudence with distinction.
I have taught Islamic history at undergraduate level at Leeds and specialise in the Islam strand of GCSE and A-Level Religious Studies. Alongside my academic work, I have over 20 years’ experience teaching and mentoring in community and educational settings. I enjoy helping students gain clarity, confidence, and excellent exam results by making complex topics accessible and engaging.

Struggling with RS Islam? I’ll help you master the key themes and boost your grades with clear, structured teaching.
I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Religious Studies (Islam strand), breaking down complex topics into simple explanations and showing students how to apply their knowledge in exams. Lessons include practice questions, essay feedback, and exam technique tips.
For A-Level, I also run a 10-week “Islam Mastery Course” covering the syllabus themes (core beliefs, Shari’ah, early caliphs, ethical issues, Islam in the modern world) with targeted essay practice and exam strategies.
