About Ryan
I hold a PhD in Computer Vision and bring more than 15 years of practical experience in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Large Language Models.
My research has appeared at major international computer vision conferences and workshops. I also worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the field at a leading UK university.
In industry I have taken on roles as AI Lead, Computer Vision Consultant, and Data Scientist across a wide range of demanding projects. These have included work in VFX technology, autonomous systems, hyperspectral sensing, medical monitoring tools, and technical due-diligence.
I gained university-level teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant covering Computer Vision, Data Mining, and Programming modules, where I supervised both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Nowadays I mentor an international group of young Kaggle competitors and a recent Computer Science graduate who is moving into ML and Data Science.
What defines my remote tutoring is the combination of deep academic foundations and real production-level experience. I keep every session practical and code-first. We build things together, debug live, run experiments on the spot, and focus on creating systems that actually work in practice rather than just covering theory.

I take a deeply practical, research-driven approach to tutoring. Rather than dry theory or generic slides, every class is built around real-world implementation: we code together live, break down cutting-edge papers, debug production-level problems, and design systems from scratch. I combine rigorous mathematical intuition with hands-on coding in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and modern tooling. Expect interactive sessions where you build, experiment, and iterate — not passive lectures.
Typical lessons last 60–90 minutes, with flexible scheduling. We can extend to 2 hours for intensive project work.
As a PhD holder in AI & Machine Learning with years of applied experience in LLMs, advanced Machine Learning, and Data Science (including industry and research projects), I’ve helped students and professionals move from struggling with concepts to confidently implementing complex models.
These remote lessons are designed for serious university students (undergraduate to PhD level), researchers, and working professionals who want to master LLMs, Machine Learning, and Data Science — not absolute beginners or school-age learners.
