About Bria
I am a Registered Adult Nurse with a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing, a Distinction-level MSc in Population Health, and a PhD in dementia and health services research.
I have published research in peer-reviewed academic journals, presented my work internationally and received an early-career research award from the British Geriatrics Society. Alongside my academic experience, I have worked as a Clinical Research Nurse and Dementia Clinical Nurse Specialist, and have provided teaching and support to healthcare staff and students.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual goals, whether you are looking for support with an assignment or dissertation, developing your academic writing, understanding research methods, or building confidence in critically appraising research.
I can provide support in areas including:
• Nursing and health-related academic assignments

• Literature, systematic and scoping reviews
• Critical appraisal and evidence-based practice
• Academic and scientific writing
• Research proposals and study design
• Understanding and interpreting research papers
• Qualitative interviewing and thematic analysis
• Presentation and poster preparation
My teaching approach is supportive, practical and tailored to your current level. Rather than simply telling you what to change, I aim to help you understand why something works and develop skills that you can apply independently to future assignments and research.
For academic writing sessions, we can work together on structure, clarity, critical analysis and developing a stronger academic argument. For research methods, I can break down concepts into manageable steps and use examples to help make complex methods easier to understand.
Lessons would typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate, particularly for dissertation or research project support.
My lessons are particularly suited to undergraduate and postgraduate nursing, healthcare, public health and related health-science students, as well as healthcare professionals who would like to develop their research, evidence-based practice or academic skills.
Whether you are new to research or working on a dissertation or postgraduate project, I will meet you at your current level and help you develop both your work and your confidence as an independent learner.
