About Helen
I’ve been teaching since 2008. I’m doing my PhD but still tutor sometimes because I still really enjoy working with students and PhD work is very solitary. I’ve got two little kids and a big dog. I can only teach during the school day.

I’ve been teaching and tutoring for 16 years but every student is different. I will offer supportive and construction feedback to enable you to improve with every piece of writing you give me. I don’t like to overwhelm people with a ton of red marks (unless you ask me to!) and prefer to triage your writing to find the most pressing issues and resolve them, then the next most pressing until you are at a level you are happy with and where you are able to reach your goals. Ideally, we will do this with tea and biscuits at hand.
