About Andrew
Hi! I'm Andy Knox, a friendly and non-judgmental tutor who is excited to help you meet your goals one step at a time.
I have had informal experience tutoring since I began giving my friends feedback on their essays in junior high school. Since then, I have worked as a babysitter, drum instructor, writing tutor, chess teacher, Mandarin Chinese teacher, and English tutor to my Chinese friends applying to study in the United States.
I'm excited to get to know you and help you take control of your learning journey!

As a tutor, I am most interested in providing my students with the necessary tools to continue improving in between our sessions. This means I place great emphasis on the student truly understanding not only the "what," but also the "why."
I believe student achievement is best facilitated through a non-judgmental, objective, and optimistic approach that encourages excitement to learn and improve.
A typical starting lesson plan includes an initial assessment of what stands between the students and their goals. Together with a student, I assess the work they have submitted and discuss the ways they can improve their future work.
My interactions and lesson plans vary depending on my student's ages, areas requiring growth, and learning styles. Having taught Kindergartners and college seniors, I am happy to work with students of all ages.
