About Sam
I graduated with my PhD in 2023 and have lectured at various universities across my teaching career. I research mostly in metaphysics (my thesis covered whether or not numbers exist!) but I teach a much wider range than that. I have taught metaphysics; epistemology; ethics; logic; history of philosophy; philosophy of science and many more! I have published some of my research and regularly present at conferences/events for the general public!

I can adapt the lessons to suit individual learners, whatever works for you! Generally, though, lessons will be an hour. I like to begin teaching sessions with a general informal chat about the topic to get a sense for the specific learner's needs. After that, we can move to more formal short tasks if the learner wants where I can offer feedback and get a sense of the student's progress. I have taught in a wide range of philosophical topics for various students from undergraduates all the way up to mature students returning to a university environment, or experiencing it for the first time! I am able to offer tutoring up to and including the masters level. In my teaching roles, I have developed a short writing guide so I'm happy to focus sessions on essay writing if needs be!
