Physics Graduate offering Maths and Physics online lessons for all levels and ages.

Recent Physics graduate providing lessons to all ages and levels. I am an experienced tutor who want to give all pupils the tools and methods to achieve their potential.

Each child is different so their teaching should be. I tailor each lesson to the individual either working from their curriculum or focusing on problem areas. Each lesson is structured as following: review past material, introduce and look at new material, discuss all possible methods and answers with several examples and finally practice yourself. Each lesson is different and interactive.

I teach maths, algebra, trigonometry, physics, geometry, arithmetic. For the level(s)primary, secondary, GCSE, as level, a level, BTEC.
I give lessons in person, at the student's home.
I give lessons by Webcam.

Heather's Experience

I have been tutoring on and off for 4 years whilst studying for my Physics degree at the University of Exeter. In that time I have taught 6 students ranging from the age of 8 to 16.

Two of my students were working towards the 11+ exam and scholarships. Both students achieved the required entrance marks for the specific school and one was awarded a full academic scholarship. Another of my students improved his GCSEs maths grade from a C to a B.

Duties included teaching pupils material in preparation for the 11+ exam in the following areas: Mathematics, Comprehension, English, Verbal and Nonverbal reasoning.
During this time, Heather was required to explain concepts in an engaging but understandable way, adapting to each pupil’s level. This role required dependability and effective time management in order to address all problem areas for each pupil by pre-planning each session.

Mathematics and Science Tutor OCT 2013 – APR 2014
Heather taught Year 4 and GCSE level material in Mathematics and Science to students on a weekly basis.
This role required versatility to adapt a teaching style appropriate for each pupil.

Team member of a bi-weekly support group, working with pupils aged 12-17 to aid their academic work out of school hours.

Voluntary Experience
Project Leader for People Have Abilities (PHAB) SEPT 2016 - MAY 2017
Heather was a co-leader of Exeter’s branch of the national charity PHAB, working with disabled children and young adults to promote equality and diversity through fun activities and interactive school assemblies.

Summer Activities, University of Exeter JAN 2016 - SEPT 2016
Fundraising Manager and Team Leader
Heather was responsible for sourcing the funds to run a two week summer camp for young carers in the Exeter and Devon area. This was achieved by applying for several grants including Children in Need along with organising numerous fundraising events for instance pitching a stall and bouncy castle at festivals. She was required to produce budgets and review spending throughout preparation and write financial and feedback reports.
During the camp, Heather was responsible for some fellow volunteers and a group of children. She was the point of communication between volunteers and management and was required to solve problems raised by volunteers quickly and effectively. When engaging with the children she had to be patient and encouraging.

Additional Information
Whilst studying for her GCSE and A Levels, Heather was recognised for her work ethic and was nominated for, and received, an award for her hard work and dedication. She also achieved recognition in the form of a trophy for the highest overall Mathematics A-Level mark and for the overall A-A* Level achievements award, given to the top students.
She is also a qualified First Aider (accredited by St John’s ambulance).
