I am eager to provide group or individual tutoring for science and maths at A-level or GCSE level.
I believe the only way to make learning accessible is to use a tailored approach combining other passions with the subjects. for example a person whom is passionate about music should be taught wave physics in relation to instruments and sound where possible but an athletic person might prefer to look at this throw examples like a trampoline. obviously this will be tailored directly to the student at hand. I also believe the most common failure of teachers of STEM subjects is to make students feel stupid which is not acceptable and only shows the teacher as unable to teach so naturally I will avoid this.
I am a physics student at the university of Southampton studying towards my masters in physics. At sixth-form I studied A-level : Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics. I also completed an EPQ on LIGO research. I was in the academic year who first took the new GCSE and A-level curriculums and I believe this gives me some insight into the more recent issues for students. I hope you will chose me to support your education in science or maths.
If lessons are regularly cancelled at the last minute I will require payment in advance in future.
I completed my level 2 qualifications (GCSEs and equivalent qualifications) at Aston University Engineering Academy in 2017.
The qualifications I received were:
GCSE Biology A
GCSE Chemistry A
GCSE Physics A
GCSE English literature 5(new equivalent of high C)
GCSE English Language 5
GCSE Mathematics 9(new equivalent of high A*)
GCSE Design and Technology: Product Design B
BTEC Level 2 Engineering distinction star
City and guilds engineering distinction
In 2017 I also completed the Edexcel level 3 algebra course to pass (pass or fail course) which is equivalent to an AS.
Then in 2019 I completed my A-Levels at Aston university sixth form (this may still be listed as Aston University Engineering Academy in various data sets)
I received qualifications of :
A-level Biology B
A-level Chemistry C
A-level Mathematics A
A-level Physics A
And an EPQ (equivalent to an AS) C
I have also been a scouting young leader / leader for over 5 years teaching children less academic skills such as cooking, pioneering, arts and crafts and much more. in addition to this I have recently adapted scouting to an online virtual form giving me experience at engaging and teaching virtually.
In 2017 I was awarded an Arkwright scholarship in engineering due to my work on a school extra curriculum project making a chocolate 3D printer.
my time working on the printer involved lots of teaching younger students how to do the mathematics needed to calculate geometry of its parts and the thermodynamics of the system as well as lots of more general engineering concepts.
Amazing!! My son loves him and got a grade above his prediction in his GCSE physics. Would absolutely recommend! :D
He's so good!! He helped my son with his GCSE physics so much, and is such a lovely person. Would definitely recommend him :D
