About Stephen
After graduating with a BSC in Physics from Birmingham University I worked for 8 years at Oldbury on Severn Nuclear Power Station in the Station Physics department. I enjoyed instructing here and as an Army Reserve Officer and so with a passion for Physics it was natural that I move into teaching Physics. After my PGCE at Bristol University I took a teaching post at an independent school in Dorset. I finished there as Head of Science and Head of Physics after working for 26 years at the school.

I believe in a structured approach to Physics teaching at both GCSE and A level based on understanding the key concepts and processes involved and then answering related questions effectively and looking at related practical work. I have worked for 26 years in the independent sector teaching Physics as Head of Department. Typical lessons would be 30 minutes. I am a mathematical physicist so can also tutor mathematics.
