About Dennis
I have a bachelor's and master's degree in teaching physics. I have 9 years of experience in teaching at the college level and I am in my 17th year of teaching at the high school level.
I have been teaching AP Physics 1 since the College Board restructured AP Physics B in 2014. I have taught AP Physics 2 for a few years. I have been teaching Honors Physics II (electricity, magnetism, and modern physics) to senior high school students for 16 years.
I have a document camera at home that I can hook up to my computer to demonstrate how physics problems are solved.

In the school year 2021 - 2022, I tutored a high school student from New York City who was almost failing in her class. I started tutoring her in February 2021. Her test scores went up from the 50s to the 80s almost immediately. When she took the Regents exam at the end of the school year, she got 92% and her name was posted on her school bulletin board.
My typical lesson starts with a pre-assessment using a question or problem that is patterned after the public release of the expected year-end assessment. Based on the score or work of the student on this pre-assessment, we will do a quick review of the physics concepts involved and go over the techniques for solving problems. Then, we will answer more questions and solve additional problems for practice.
