About Hugh
I am a dedicated professional pianist and educator situated in York, UK. In 2019, I earned my BA Hons. in Music from the University of York, complemented by a Dip.ABRSM performance diploma in 2018.
My professional journey has led me to contribute my expertise as a piano teacher and accompanist at esteemed schools across the UK. In addition, I offer private lessons, cultivating a passion for music in students of various abilities and interests.

I offer private piano lessons for students of all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners to advanced players looking to go beyond grade 8. With several years of experience teaching and performing, I am passionate about uncovering creativity in students and young people.
As well as focusing on learning to read sheet music, I like to broaden students' perspectives and get creative with playing with and without sheet music, including improvisation, to expand their idea of what it means to be a musician.

Standard is £30 per hour. Lessons need not be 1 hour, and could be 30 or 45 minutes. 30 mins may be £15-17, 45 mins 20-£25 depending on travel expenses.
