About DanDan
Hi there! My name is DanDan, and I am currently studying at Guildford High School, where I am a music scholar. I have played piano since the age of 5, and since then I have a distinction in grade 8 in 2022, and am currently preparing for an LRSM exam. I am highly passionate about piano, as well as classical music in general. I also have sung since 2021, and have achieved a grade 8, currently focusing on operatic works. I love to perform, and I want to share the joy of playing piano with others, helping whether that is playing own choice repertoire or working towards grades.

- I am happy to teach any students up to ARSM/ATCL level inclusive
- I am highly keen on helping others achieve their goals, and I want to help others play to the best of their ability, whilst nurturing their passion
- No student is the same! I will tailor each lesson to the student's needs, whether that be focusing more on musicality, or improving technique, or something else
- I believe that to be a good pianist, grades are not vital. Although grades are very popular, and they are excellent for developing musicianship, some students are not suited towards consistently taking grades, and this is also not a problem. Some students may opt to focus on grades, but skip certain ones if necessary, some may choose to take just a grade 8 when at the level, or some may choose not to take any grades at all! Your journey is individual to you, and that should be respected.
- Lesson times should be based on each student’s preferences, but as a general guide, grades 1-3 level maybe only need 30 minute lessons, grades 4-6 level may need 45 minute lessons, and grades 7-ARSM/ATCL level will require 1 hour lessons. However this may vary between students.
- If needed, I am able to speak Mandarin.
