Sax has been teaching me singing for over a year now as part of the folk choir they run, and I really enjoy it! They are a patient and engaging teacher with a breadth of musical knowledge, and have given me help to learn songs by ear via recordings, so I can still participate when my limited music-reading means I struggle. Since starting folk choir my ability to sight-read music and my understanding of technical terms and the principles of harmonising have vastly improved, though, and my vocal ability and confidence has grown greatly, so I enjoy singing even more than before! Would highly recommend them.

I’ve known Sax for about three years through the folk choir he runs and it has been so fun and rewarding to learn from him. Sax is great at adapting to anyone’s learning speed, whether they’re a complete beginner or semi-professional, and is always super encouraging. I used to really not like my voice or have any confidence in my ability to sight sing but I’m happy to say that this is no longer the case!
