About Jonathan
Jonny Cool aka Jupiter Black is a multidisciplinary artist, music director, composer and producer from Portland, Oregon. The experience of working with well known artists such as John Legend, Rakim, Tyus and other industry professionals has helped bring Jonny to his current skill set. In 2022 Jonny was credited as a writer on the hit song ‘DFMU’ by Ella Mai, which reached #1 on the R&B Billboard charts, the song recently received a certified Gold and Platinum plaque from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).

I’ve had students that started at a very beginner level, no experience at all to where they are now releasing their own music and performing Slam poetry in front of audience. I like to customize the way I teach to specific needs of my students. I am self taught, and with hard work and my method of learning, I’ve achieved a Gold and Platinum record certified from the RIAA music academy. I’ll be here to support your goals, and help you get to the next level of Rapping and performing Slam Poetry.
