About Roanne

I have a Masters Degree in European Contemporary Fine Art | Practice and Theory, and a Post-Graduate in Painting from the traditional drawing and painting Academy, Edinburgh College of Art and have twenty-five years of experience tutoring children of all ages, students with special needs, adults individually and in groups.

I offer a solid foundation in the technical and traditional skills of drawing and painting, art history and theory, and encourage my students to explore the boundaries of visual arts, and expand and challenge their thinking in content, form, methods, and processes. I will tailor make a course, lesson or workshop to your specific needs and cater to beginners through to graduate level.

I will send my full CV, but have chosen two examples of my experience:

COURSE DEVELOPER AND LECTURER FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
Freelance Contract. Kunstrom 7 Trastad Samlinger | Sør-Troms Museum, Norway
Kunstrom 7 was a collaboration with Trastad Samlinger (Art-Cultural-Historical Museum) and Rå Videregåendeskole (College of Higher Education). We created an art college equivalent foundation course in visual arts for students with special needs; three young teenage girls with Downs Syndrome and an adolescent boy with severe autism. The course provided adapted training for the development of their skills in visual arts to prepare them for their future professional, artistic practice.

LECTURER /TUTOR IN DRAWING, PAINTING AND ART HISTORY
Nordland kunst- og filmfagskole, Kabelvåg, Norway
My remit was to give a solid foundation in the technical and traditional skills of drawing and painting, art history and theory, while encouraging the students to explore the boundaries of visual arts, expand and challenge their thinking in content, form, methods, and processes. I was fortunate to collaborate with artists, Film-makers and theoreticians from across the Nordic countries and Europe, who visited as guest tutors.

THE JOY OF CREATIVITY
I love to share my experience and skills in a world of creativity and learning. I believe that Art is critically important at the individual level. Learning about practical visual creativity and knowing where it comes from contribute to:
Development of artistic skills.
Personal growth in confidence, achievement, pride and satisfaction.
Increased emotional and creative capacity.
Strengthening of individual identity.
Increased self-esteem and confidence.
Wellness and not least enjoyment.
