About Álvaro
Graduated from the oldest University in Portugal, University of Coimbra, I have spent my last eight years as a tour guide around the city of Lisbon and giving private Portuguese classes, as well as being an actor in theatre, cinema, television and advertising. I have travelled to more than 26 countries and am passionate about intercultural exchanges. Speaking 4 languages (Portuguese, Spanish, English and French), I love absorbing things from new cultures, as well as showing the wonders of my country, Portugal, and my culture. Additionally, my constant work as an actor helped me improve my Portuguese classes, due to my mastery of vocabulary, grammar, accents and expressions characteristic of various areas of the world where Portuguese is spoken.

Hi! My name is Álvaro and I am here to help you discover one of the most beautiful and spoken languages in the world, Portuguese. After having travelled to 26 countries, and speaking four languages fluently, it is now my turn to show you the wonders of my native language. I prepare people of all ages and for all language levels to understand, speak, read and write in Portuguese, in classes lasting approximately one hour that can be extended, depending on individual needs and objectives. ALL CLASSES ARE PLANNED AND PREPARED ACCORDING TO YOUR PERSONAL GOALS. I can teach Portuguese in English, Spanish or French, depending on which language you speak. Being currently based in London, I can teach face-to-face classes to those who live here, and teach online classes to people all over the world.
