About Joana
I am a Portuguese Native looking at introducing people to the language or help them improve their skills!
I live in Lisbon and I am currently finishing my M.A. in Communication, Television and Cinema.
I have given some Portuguese lessons to my fellow uni students at the University of Seoul in South Korea when I was there for a semester (that was when I fell in love with teaching my language!).

My methods are based on an individualized approach. I like to have a conversation with my students and determine where they are and in which direction they would like to go.
I offer well-structured, easy-to-follow lessons. I aim to conduct it through discussions and interactive tasks to keep you engaged. I focus on all the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing- but I'll always prioritize the student’s needs and preferences (if you are learning Portuguese for travel, we will focus on Speaking and Listening). We can work on whatever you would like to improve on.
The most important thing is that the lesson should not be boring and that you stay strongly motivated!
I will also provide content in Portuguese that will allow you to include the language in your daily life, like music, movies and soap operas. It is really important to me to share my culture with my students so they can experience the language like a local :)
