About Jiayi
I just graduated from the university of Liverpool studying Mathematics with Finance. I was a teaching assistance solving mathematical problems for sophomore when I was a senior, and I had a wonderful time with them. Now I am a postgraduate studying operational Research with Data Science at University of Edinburgh, but I am always passionate about education, hence I am planning to do PhD studying Mathematical Education afterwards.

My students are undergraduates (year 2), and I was the teaching assistant supporting them to solve their mathematical problems on the tutorial. I met different student every week, and I believe that every student is different, hence I need to use different teaching methodology to suit their needs. For example, for advanced student, I need to prepare more because they might ask difficult questions, and I should give them more examples, more materials, which may motivate them to do more. But for some students who might have some issues to catch up during the lecture, I am supposed to explain the lecture notes first, and then demonstrate the problems given by their lecturer. For those student, patience and detailed explanations are definitely required. Moreover, building their confidence is also crucial.
