About Shah Numair
I graduated with a BFA in Fine Art from one of the most prestigious art colleges in Pakistan and am currently enrolled in the MFA Arts & Humanities program at the Royal College of Art, London—the top-rated art school in the world. Through my experience teaching art at various levels, I’ve encountered highly talented students who bring compelling concepts and perspectives that I also learn from. I encourage and guide young students to discover their own artistic voice, rather than invalidating their perspectives or skills. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their growth as they challenge themselves, transforming their ideas into powerful visual expressions. My goal is to build confidence in each student by providing both technical support and intellectual engagement, especially for those looking to create a body of work or portfolio.

With ten years of experience teaching Art at GCSE, A Level, and Undergraduate degree levels, I focus on building strong foundational skills, experimentation with various mediums, materials, surfaces, and techniques while emphasising the development of conceptual intent and analytical skills. While I am proficient in charcoal and pencil drawings in my art practice, I can also teach other mediums such as oils, acrylics, soft pastels, pen, or watercolours. My lessons combine technical demonstrations with critical engagement through discussions, vocabulary building, and examples from art history and contemporary practices. I offer a balance between technical proficiency and conceptual development, ensuring students explore their own artistic voice and critical thinking skills. Lessons vary from 1 hour to 2 hours, depending on the student's needs.
