About Michelle
I have been a primary school teacher for 17 years. I enjoy working with pupils who do not fit the mould of local authority schooling. Working with students I find what interests them and then adapt the curriculum to fit their needs rather than try to change them. I get to know my pupils and look for opportunities to inspire them, this could be through music, film, literature or real life experiences.

Experience engaging pupils will additional learning needs to acquire the skills of numeracy and literacy. I use the interests of the child to create lessons that help them to acquire the skills needed to achieve in literacy and numeracy.
Schools are bound by a national curriculum and focus on levels and statistics. I believe that children love to learn and the national curriculum in England and Wales is a one size fits all curriculum. Some children need a bespoke curriculum to inspire and enthuse them. Whilst being mindful of the requirements of a national curriculum, my lessons are bespoke to the interests of the young person and enable them to acquire skills through their own personal interests.
