About Cailey
I am a Primary School Teacher working in the local area. I currently have a Year 4 class and have experience in years 2, 5 and 6. I completed a Primary PGCE with QTS in 2022. Recent training means that I am familiar and up to date with the latest studies surrounding effective teaching and learning. As a teacher, I take a calm and patient approach and believe in every child I work with. In 2020, I obtained a BSc in Psychology where I learnt a number of theories surrounding confidence building such as the Growth Mindset - this is where pupils have the belief that their abilities can be developed. As the adults in children’s lives can have a huge impact on whether or not a child holds such a mindset, it is the foundation of my teaching.

Tutoring lessons will begin with an assessment to help identify the child’s strengths and needs within the subject. Subsequent lessons will be tailored accordingly and frequently re-evaluated for appropriateness. Lesson content will be structured but flexible. This is so that we are able to repeat learning in following sessions where necessary - there is nothing wrong with revisiting learning! This will help children to feel more confident in their knowledge and able to tackle questions outside of our sessions. Each session will begin with a task related to the previous session to consolidate learning.
