I am a highly motivated, caring, bubbly and understanding Primary School Teacher of 4 years. My listening and communication skills are excellent. My calm and collected personality make me a very approachable individual. Teaching is my passion, I am driven to help others have the confidence to succeed and excel in education. I understand the challenges that children face in light of the New National Curriculum. I am well equipped to help children meet age-related expectations. My lessons are specifically organised and structured to meet the individual needs of the learner. I establish individual needs through assessment prior to learning, which allows me to identify areas of strength and those which need developing. I then develop a learning journey based around outcomes from the assessment. Additionally, I use my understanding of my pupils preferred learning styles to plan and deliver my lessons.
Teaching Experience (most recent first):
April 2017 - November 2017
I am currently working for a number of supply agencies in the Greater Manchester area, teaching students in KS1 and KS2 in a range of schools and settings. Assignments to date have included working in two different schools on long term assignments. The first being with Year 5/6 pupils, and the second with a year 1 class in a 2-form entry school.
September 2014 – April 2017 Beaconhill Community Primary School
Until April 2017, I worked at Beaconhill Community Primary School. In September 2014 to July 2015 I worked as Year 5 class teacher covering a maternity leave. During the academic year of 2015-2016 I worked as PPA cover teacher from Nursery to Year 6. From September 2016, I worked as Year 3 class teacher covering a maternity leave.
Throughout the duration of my time at the school, my lesson observations and teaching were consistently graded as good to outstanding by the headteacher and other staff members. I was able to ensure progress by all individuals was made by assessing knowledge prior to learning, developing from this well structured lessons that addressed gaps in knowledge. Rigorous assessment and monitoring of attainment enabled me to pitch follow up lessons accordingly, to ensure learning was maximised and progress made. I learnt how to use a range of different teaching methods to address different styles of learning through the observation of others teaching and training courses. For example, I found the use of place value counters exceptionally useful for the kinaesthetic and visual learners in my class.
Mar 2014 – June 2014 Westgate Hill Primary Academy
This was a long-term supply post through Capita Supply Agency. I worked as a supply teacher covering PPA from Nursery to Year 6.
