About Helen
I am a qualified primary school teacher, with over 25 years of teaching experience, across all ages and in all subjects. As a general class teacher, my expertise lies in the core subjects of Maths and English, but I also cover the foundation subjects and specialise in language teaching (French). I have secured several awards for my school in this area. I am patient, professional, caring, creative, inventive and forward thinking. My experience allows me to quickly assess the learning requirements of an individual, and I can then plan tailored, highly motivating schemes of work, with a focus on achieving targeted objectives and positive results. Over the years, I have tutored individuals in a variety of situations and for a variety of reasons. During lockdown, I kept my Year 5 class actively learning at home, by setting imaginative and rewarding activities. I also prepared my own children to sit independent school entrance exams and both achieved successful entry.
