Primary school teacher with 20 years experience based in Essex offering primary school maths support

Methodology

The word i like to use is ENGAGEMENT. I like to always start lessons with a question. What do you already know? Is there more than one answer. I like my pupils to use drawings/diagrams to help them and when they are ready we will move onto calculations, reasoning and then problem solving. It is all about creating depth and understanding rather than a thin layer of learning. If it has depth, the learning will stick and progress happens.

Experience

I have been a primary school teacher for nearly 20 years and have worked in outstanding schools in a number of settings (Essex, inner city London, Southend-on-Sea) My passion is maths and I have consistently planned lessons that ensure all children make accelerated progress and also develop a love for maths.

Rate for online lessons : £40/h
Rate for 5 hours of lessons : £35
Rate for 10 hours of lessons : £30

Details

My hourly will remain the same even if there is more than one student. I will take a maximum of 4 students so this cost would only then be £10 per hour.

• Leading teaching and learning across 3 year 5&6 classes to ensure the creative curriculum is being implemented effectively across all subjects.
• Leading 8 teachers and 3 SLT in ensuring reading and writing is delivered in line with national expectations and lessons are sequenced so they show clear progression for all pupils.
• Led high quality reading and writing CPD for 20 staff across 2 schools. Feedback has always been positive and the impact is seen immediately in day-to-day classroom practice.
• Currently working across 3 schools in the academy in a range of roles such mentoring, collaborative teaching and advising senior leaders where learning and teaching could be developed.
Assistant Headteacher/Classroom Teacher: 2016 – 2018
A two form primary school based in Stratford, East London.
• Led Science curriculum across the school which led to outcomes being used by a leading educational consultant within the Borough of Newham.

A two form entry primary school based in Canning Town, East London.
• Worked with a budget annually of £10 – £15,000 to ensure computing was well resourced and staff fully trained.
• Successfully completed NQT within the school and the following year participated and completed the Outstanding Teacher Programme Qualification.
