About Emily

My name is Emily Evans. I qualified as a Primary School Teacher in the early 1990's. I have 2 grown up children - who no longer live at home. I live in Gloucestershire with my husband, Andrew and my elderly cat, called Meena.
I have tutored for a number of years, after school and find it very rewarding. I put the emphasis on building overall self-confidence in every child, that I am lucky enough to support.
Many children have moved onto Secondary School, feeling more confident as learners and ready to take on new challenges within their school journey. I love it, when someone who comes to me for support in Maths, says to me: 'I love Maths, now'.

About the lesson

I ensure that each lesson meets the need of every individual child. Building self-confidence is key and I incorporate a variety of different strategies and techniques to fully engage with each individual child. The general length of a session is an hour, but can be less if that suits the child and parent, more.
I have a B.Ed Degree in Primary School Education and have taught across the age groups - from 4-11+
I have tutored alongside my job, for the past few years and thoroughly enjoy seeing the children gain in confidence and feel better about themselves as learners.
