About Mercy
Hi, I'm Mercy and though I LOVE TO TEACH (had to get that out there :D ) I also have a range of interests.
I am recently married and relocating to sunny Portugal, which is why I am taking my teaching online. I used to own a dessert company, fulfilling my passion of baking and making sweet treats.
Travelling is imbedded in me and was done so by my parents, I love cultures and when I travel I tend to immerse myself in the culture of a country.
I grew up in London and Hertfordshire and it really was the best of both worlds, again being around different cultures and livelihoods... I was 26 when I first saw a cow haha!
I do love teaching and this section is about me but that is such a big part of me. It's the eureka moment that a student feels, when they finally understand something, that makes me so happy and fulfilled. In another lifetime I can only see myself teaching (though I would take more opportunities to teach abroad). I am glad to say that I am doing what I've always wanted to and I hope that I can share my teaching with you.

Lessons taught by me are catered to the student. Having worked with children with SEND, I know how to adapt to a vast range of needs and abilities. I have taught and managed to get children to Greater Depth in year 5.
I use a range of multimedia to keep my students engaged and excited about the topics learnt as well as traditional aspects of teaching.
A typical lesson will last for 45 minutes to an hour, depending on previous subject knowledge.
I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE including QTS and have taught primary school for 7 years, 3 years in year 6, 1 in year 4 and 2 years in year 5.
My lessons are catered to primary school students, with most of my experience being in upper KS2, though I do have phonics knowledge.
