About Gemma
I hold a PGCE in Primary Education and I am a practiced and fully qualified teacher. I graduated with a 2:1 (Hons) Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music with French in 2015 and prior to this, I completed a wide variety of A-Levels and GCSEs.
I have taught Literacy across the Primary school phases, including preparation for the Phonics Screening tests and SATs. I am an experienced Read Write Inc phonics teacher, and have taught the range of KS1 and KS2 Literacy skills including spelling, reading and writing.
As well as Literacy, I can teach the range of Primary subjects across the full curriculum, including preparing for Mathematics and Science SATs, and additionally, Music Theory to Grade 5

I strive to deliver creative lessons that engage all pupils and use a variety of teaching and learning strategies to appeal to all pupils. I pride building lessons to centre around real-life contexts and experiences so that my pupils can understand how their studies will be utilised throughout life. I take pride in planning and delivering stimulating lessons, using a variety of materials to create different learning experiences for children. I have regularly used music, video, games / quizzes, role-play and drama, iPads and the environment (teaching outdoors) to support and enhance the academic content of my lessons and engage the pupils in their learning.
