About Matthew
I am qualified primary age teacher currently based within a year 5 classroom.. I love what i do and have a really good relationship with my class. I want to give any students i work with the quality of education they deserve and to give the student the agency to embed their learning by making sense of topics in their own way.
I am excellent at identifying misconceptions and i able to use scaffolding to guide students through challenging subjects.
I have worked in education for 12 years, i have built up a good knowledge of the primary curriculum including SAT tests and the topics covered at both infant and junior years.
I have experience of teaching history at A Level and GCSE and have a degree in the subject. I have a passion for the long 19th century and love the expressing my love of the subject and how it shaped the world we live in today.

I use a dialogic approach and aim allow students to make sense of topics by making links with previous learning and understanding of the world.
I aim to provide high quality primary education and History learning up to and including A level. I will plan well for each individual student and will adapt learning to gain the best for results for each individual. I will incorporate any learning needs and use technology to create a high standard of interaction and as a way to overcome learning barriers.
I concentrate on students being able to know more and remember more and will introduce questions from previous topics in lessons to promote knowledge recall.
I have 12 years experience within education mainly in a secondary school setting as an unqualified teacher. I am currently undertaking a Primary (5-11) PGCE with QTS and therefore my techniques are at the cutting edge of education research.
Most of all i want to build a good relationship with all my students and for them to do well in their studies and become inspiring people themselves.
