About Heather
Hi, my name is Heather and I am an ex-teacher of 15 years. I am currently a Refugee Support Worker, but I have been running a private tutoring company for over five years because I love teaching!
My lessons are based on mutual respect and valuing individual differences. So with that in mind let me tell you a bit about myself..
I have taught almost every year group from babies to Year 12 in the UK, Australia, Canada, Uganda and China. I love teaching and I love creative writing and reading. My biggest love is my pets of which I have six - five cats and a beautiful, old bunny who is both blind and deaf. I look forward to getting to know you more.

My lessons truly focus on getting to know your child. Not every tutor is suitable for every child and therefore I offer an introduction session at a reduced rate to help build a relationship and support your child to feel at ease.
By getting to know your child really well, I can plan lessons around their interests, encourage their strengths and identify and support gaps in their learning. Sessions can be based on almost any lesson... English, maths, geography, history, creative writing etc and involve confidence building and emotional support as well.
Lessons are typically an hour but can be tailored around your child's needs as every child learns at a different pace and has differing needs.
