About Neil
I have taught music privately for nearly 40 years and have watched many of my students progress from beginning or intermediate level to become proficient performers. I have also taught as a peripatetic tutor (piano and guitar) within a school setting.

I teach guitar (most styles), bass guitar, piano/keyboard (classical, pop, blues and jazz), double-bass and music theory (including the AB and Trinity Grades I-VIII) from beginner to advanced level.
I can also coach students in jazz theory and improvisation along with jazz piano comping/keyboard harmony.
I concentrate on building solid instrumental technique, reading skills and aural ability. I can also advise students on how to structure their learning and practice.
