Calum has always helped me out in times of need, especially when I first moved to Scotland and found it difficult to understand certain protocols, as my English was rusty. He always kept his word about helping me out and did his absolute best to explain everything that I found confusing. Thanks to him, I successfully wrote my first English essay during my first year at university, that I am still proud of even today. Therefore, I really believe he will be a fantastic tutor!

Calum is committed in everything he does. He has studied at University for the last five years achieving excellent results through working hard. He has obtained a first class honours degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacology and a masters degree with distinction in Industrial Biotechnology. He is very trustworthy and will bring out the best that is possible in anyone he tutors.

I met Calum in the first year of of an undergraduate degree and have now known him for about 5 years. Since then, we have both achieved distinction level degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I bring this up because that environment makes it abundantly clear to me that Calum would make an excellent and trustworthy tutor. He has always been a hard-working and reliable guy that puts a great deal of planning and forward thought into any work he does.

Two pertinent attributes that I think stand out the most are as follows: Firstly, Calum is very clear and direct in his communications. He is incredible at taking difficult concepts and getting them across in a much simpler and accessible way. I've seen this countless times in his reports and in oral presentation, where he always excels. Secondly is his attitude to learning and study, especially with more difficult topics. On a few occasions, Calum has come to me for help in understanding some of the course content. Each time, he's been really committed to learning, and asks excellent questions to help ground his understanding. Equally, Calum has always been willing to provide clarity when my own understanding is dubious. From personal experience, I've found that his calm demenaour and very straight-forward approach to be really helpful in getting through what otherwise would be very frustrating material.

A final point I'd like to raise is that Calum is not somebody that does things in half measures. For as long as I've known him, he's always endeavored to get the best result he is capable of. It's my belief that if he tutors someone, he will be invested: he will want that person to improve and achieve what they are capable of. To be honest, I couldn't think of anybody more suited to the task.

Apart from being my Son, he is passionate about everything he does in life with nothing less than best being acceptable. Calum has an incredible broad spectrum of knowledge not only within his specialty researched and studied subjects, but life in general and all sport disciplines. Calum can be trusted 100%
