About Erik
I am a professional artist with several years of teaching experience (university, college, and one on one) and over 12 years of experience as a professional artist - exhibiting locally, nationally and internationally. While teaching I continue to work on my own art practice and keep up to date with the current developments in the art world - all useful things to transmit as much knowledge and information as possible to the student. I teach because I enjoy it, and over time I discovered that the most fulfilling experience for the student (and also myself) is a focused session where I can provide one on one guidance. This is why I prefer a teaching environment such as this, over the college experience where no student receives the proper amount of attention. (concealed information)

I specialize in painting and drawing, focusing on the basics of form and color. I cover acrylic and oil painting and various types of drawing, and the subjects range from portraiture through landscape and abstraction. I take an in-depth interest in the development of each student's interests and goals and am interested in seeing the development of each student as they gain skills and insights. Each lesson is tailored to the needs of each individual. These lessons are for all levels of expertise. I also offer a feedback service, whereby I give helpful advice and constructive criticism about artworks you have made, offer career advice for navigating the art world, etc.
