About Sophie
I have spent the past 5+ years teaching children and young adults between the ages of 8 and 18, providing one-on-one instruction in drawing, painting, and art history. I have successfully guided students through GCSE and A-Level coursework, helping them refine their artistic skills while fostering a deeper engagement with cross-disciplinary approaches to art-making. As a professional artist myself with an active exhibition schedule, I am attuned to the ups and downs of artistic careers and opportunities.
In addition to my teaching experience, my diverse background in gallery and studio management, including my roles as operations manager for a San Francisco-based art gallery and as studio manager for an abstract painter, has honed my organizational and communication skills. These experiences have given me a keen understanding of the professional art world and an ability to help students craft portfolios that not only showcase their artistic talents but also demonstrate a thoughtful engagement with contemporary art practices.
I am passionate about fostering creativity in artists of all ages and abilities to help them reach their full potential and boost confidence. My hands-on experience in curatorial projects and studio management, combined with my strong foundation in Fine Art education, enables me to provide students with comprehensive support as they develop their work.

Art is for everyone! I am a passionate art tutor who has been teaching young people to adults since 2019. I provide lessons in drawing and painting skills in my North Greenwich studio.
I am passionate about bookbinding and can teach various basic skills in hand-binding, casing small books, and creating boxes such as calm shell boxes to fit our books once completed. We will talk through every step from collating images to print in the correct sequence, folding, stitching our text blocks, casing in, choosing bookcloths, and more. Tools provided.
