About Christopher
I am a passionate artist and educator, with over ten years of experience. My artistic journey started from a very early age. I studied classical drawing at the School of Arts in Malta for three years at the age of 13. While I pursued a career in science, my interest in painting never went away. After years of experimentation with various media, including watercolor and acrylics, twenty-five years ago I started painting in oils, and I have never stopped since then. My work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions, and I bring this artistic insight into my teaching, fostering a supportive environment where students can explore their creative potential.

My teaching approach is hands-on, student-centred, and tailored to individual skill levels, fostering creativity and technical proficiency.
During the initial session, I focus on understanding your goals and artistic aspirations whilst discussing the materials required for the course.
For beginners, we start with fundamental drawing exercises to build confidence, covering essential concepts such as colour theory, composition, and perspective. Intermediate students progress to advanced techniques like layering, glazing, and developing a personal style. Lessons begin with guided demonstrations, followed by practical exercises where you apply these skills to your artwork.
I provide constructive feedback, encouraging experimentation whilst ensuring a solid grasp of foundational principles. Between sessions, you’ll receive exercises to reinforce your learning, which we review together to track progress and set new goals.
Each lesson typically lasts 1 - 2 hours, allowing sufficient time for instruction, practice, and personalised feedback. This duration ensures you can engage deeply with the material without feeling rushed. Sessions are structured to include a brief introduction, hands-on practice, and a wrap-up to discuss progress and set goals.
Flexible scheduling is available, with options for weekly, fortnightly or monthly lessons to suit your needs.
