About April
I have over twenty years of training. Completed several syllabuses and I am currently a working professional dancer. I have experience in both classical repertoire and original choreography. I even put on my own one-woman ballet during my last year of university! My biggest goal is to bring ballet to everyone and remove barriers to this art form because I believe everyone should have access to it regardless of financial background.

I am disciplined, encouraging and friendly.
My approach to lessons is to help you improve your ballet technique. During your first lesson we will create a plan together with your goals in mind whether you want a professional career or starting for the first time and don’t know where to start I am here to help.
On average (depending on your goals and experience). A lesson will start with a warm up, barre (this includes but is not limited to plies in all positions with port des bra and balances, tendus, degages, rond des jambes à terre, fondus normal and en releve, sur le cou de pied, rond des jambes en l’air, devloppes in all positions and grande battments in all positions).
After barre we will move onto centre. As my classes are online I work to what you have so don’t worry if you are working in a small room. I work to you.
During centre, we cover a short port des bra, adagio in all positions, travelling turns, pirouettes, grande fouetté, petit and grande allegro (adapted for space if necessary)
We will finish with a waltz, cool down and review. Some sessions may be a quick warm up and then working on any variations or performance pieces. I am here to help you be the best you can possibly be.
