About Thomas
I'm a professional cellist and founder of a chamber music nonprofit in Connecticut that brings classical music education to students throughout the state. My performing career has taken me from a solo appearance at the United Nations to touring internationally with my piano trio. I perform on a rare 1748 Testore cello on generous loan. At Columbia University, I advise students toward competitive conservatory admissions, and I bring that same rigor and care to every student I teach, regardless of age or level.

My teaching combines Suzuki-based technique with current research into motor learning and how it shapes string pedagogy, so lessons are built around how each student actually learns, not a one-size-fits-all method. A typical lesson covers tone production, bow technique, and repertoire, with regular attention to sight-reading and score analysis. I've prepared students for successful admission to Manhattan School of Music, NYU, and Columbia, and I also have experience teaching young beginners and students with IEPs. Lessons welcome all ages and levels.
