About Kate
Hi! My name is Kate, and teaching music is my passion. I have been learning music since I was four, and playing cello since I was 7! I have been teaching in person in the music school that I was taught in for a year now and I'm loving it. I'm learning more about how to teach, and more about myself! I'd love to try teaching online, and trying something new. I'd love to schedule a free lesson with you anytime so you can figure out if I work for you or your child! I'm surrounded by kids so I would be nothing less than delighted to have kids as my students!

Music is my passion! I find teaching the most rewarding experience, because you are passing your knowledge onto others. My teaching methodology would consist of first teaching the basics of the cello, and getting familiar with the instrument. This is the most vital part of your learning journey, as it cements the basics and allows you to play to a higher quality. We would go through each new piece and scale bit by bit, and I would never let you leave the class feeling confused! I love creating a positive and nurturing environment in the classroom. Mistakes are always allowed, they help you grow :) I have been playing cello for over 10 years, and it is such a huge passion of mine! I have completed ABRSM Grade 1-8, making me a professional cellist. I am in three different orchestras, and have competed in many national music competitions. I have been teaching in person in my music school for a year now, and I am enjoying it immensely. I'm learning so much about teaching while really enjoying it myself! The lessons would be for anyone beginning cello, or anyone still learning and not yet professional. Any ages are welcome, but I have experience with kids, ages between 8-14! Lesson lengths would typically be 45-60 mins.
