I teach to spread my love and knowledge of singing. I help students find greater vocal ease, improve their musicianship skills and unlock the joy of performing.
I have a detailed knowledge of vocal technique and work with students to improve theirs. As a regular performer myself, I know how to take pupils beyond singing and playing notes to deliver an exciting performance. I always aim to make lessons enjoyable and something to look forward to. Everyone learns best in a relaxed environment and I promote an attitude of trying one’s best when addressing challenges. I am patient and adapt my teaching to each pupil.
I have nearly 10 years of experience teaching all different ability levels and teach classical, musical theatre and pop. I have taught all ages of child and adult students in many different institutions and privately. My pupils have taken ABRSM and Trinity exams from prep test through to grade 8 with great results.
I teach singing at Greenwich Music School and Harvington Prep School, as well as maintaining a strong private practice teaching singing and piano in the Blackheath area. I also lead classes in Early Years Music for Little London Music School in Kensington.
I’ve recently graduated with Distinction for my MA in Vocal Studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and work as a professional singer and singing and piano teacher. I graduated with a 2.1 in Music at Kings College London for my undergraduate studies, majoring in Performance. I have achieved an ABRSM diploma in Singing and ABRSM grade 8 in Singing, Clarinet, Bassoon and Piano. As a soloist I regularly sing operatic roles and solos within oratorio works, as well as performing in recitals and concerts. I sing professionally in many London-based choirs.
I have worked as a singing and piano teacher for the Buckinghamshire Music Trust and in primary and secondary schools in the Buckinghamshire area. I have also taught musical theatre to large classes for Stagecoach and have worked as a deputy teacher for various Saturday music schools. This involved tutoring students in music theory and the Kodály method.
I also work as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language to both children and adults.
