I'm a professional comic artist and illustrator with 10 years experience. I have taught workshops and classes on how to draw with adults and young people for 6 years. My belief is that everyone can learn how to use art to tell a story, regardless of skill level.
If you're a beginner and want to get better, I can give you an understanding of the foundations of art and how to apply storytelling to comics. If you're at intermediate or above, I can help you to improve your skills to take you to a professional level, including how to work with writers and scripts, how to nail perspective, posing and anatomy and how to set up your pages in a dynamic and exciting way.
I teach by doing - I will show you how I work, and help you to break down the choices I make and why - and I'll get you to do the same. You'll work on comic pages from a brand new script and together we'll work out the best approach.
I'll do individual lessons on all aspects of illustration that will combine to produce a short comic strip. My teaching method varies depending on YOUR style of learning - what works for you.
I've been drawing comics for 10 years and in that time I've worked with a vast number of writers in a variety of genres. I've been a workshop facilitator for 6 years and have given lessons to adults, young people, older people, adults with learning difficulties and more.
I have experience of creating bespoke lesson plans that make sure you can learn in the style you prefer. I've also given talks on making comics.
