About Matthew
I am a professional violinist currently based in London, having recently worked in the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva, Switzerland, English Chamber Orchestra (UK) and also the Royal Sinfonia Orchestra (UK). My career as a violinist has often taken me internationally, in 2022 this has included Gstaad Menuhin Festival (Switzerland), Musicus Fest (Hong Kong), Jockey Club Music Heritage Alive Series (Berlin). I have studied in institutions including Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria), Haute école de la musique Lausanne, Geneva (Switzerland). My professors in the past include Svetlin Roussev and Pierre Amoyal.

I am experienced in teaching all levels from beginners up to Music University level in UK, Hong Kong, Switzerland. With my help, my students have succeeded in obtaining their goals, from achieving high grades in their violin/viola/piano/theory ABRSM exams, successfully auditioning for their School Orchestras and gaining Music Scholarships, to admission for Music University/College. I offer both in-person and online Zoom lessons. I can teach in English, Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin) and French! Whether you are seriously pursuing Music, working towards an exam goal or just an enthusiastic music-lover, I believe that teaching should be a joy and inspiration for both teachers and students, no matter our age or cultural background and that music is the best source of creativity!
