About Mayte
I am a contemporary and Mexican Folk dancer with a Diploma in dance teaching from the British Ballet Organisation. I have a Distinction in Performing Arts from Belfast Metropolitan College, and training from schools around the world. These schools include Partis, Graham for Europe, The Netherlands Dans Theatre, The Place London, Sweden, Belgium and Mexico where I started my dance studies under the direction of renowned choreographer Judith Camero. I have received several awards from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland recognising the quality of my dance work, and they have supported me to continue with this valuable task.

Professional dance teacher and choreographer specialising in Contemporary, Ballet, Salsa, and Mexican Folkloric Dance. With over 20 years of teaching and performance experience, I have worked with children, adults, professional dancers, and complete beginners, from studios, theatres, festivals and community spaces to cultural and educational institutions.
My approach is to guide you to feel strong, expressive, and fully present in your dance.
Alongside technique and musicality, I place emphasis on body awareness, coordination, and confidence, helping students to create and develop their own style. My background in both contemporary and traditional forms allows me to offer classes that are structured, disciplined yet joyful.
I am passionate about the way dance supports physical well-being and emotional expression. My aim is to create a safe and encouraging environment where students feel welcome and motivated.
Dance, for me, is not only a skill to be learnt, but a powerful tool for self-expression. I love supporting others on that journey.
