About Sebastian
In 2022 I won the Future of Folk Award at Bromyard Folk Festival, as well as Stainsby Festival’s singing competition. In 2023 I went on to perform at eight folk festivals in my first season, including at the Cork Singers Club with Martin Carthy, and on stage with the Wilson Family at Hartlepool. In 2024 I released my debut album Young Tamlyn's Away, featuring a mixture of traditional English and Irish music. Also that year I formed the trio Culverake with Lizzy Hardingham and Matt Quinn, specialising in unaccompanied harmony, again focusing on traditional material. In 2025 we released our own debut album Unto The Sky, and I released an album of traditional carols from the village of Foolow in Derbyshire with my friend Samuel Day. In January 2026 Culverake went on tour in New Zealand, where I plan to return on my own. In the last three years I’ve toured fairly extensively around folk clubs and festivals in the UK, I’ve run workshops of Derbyshire and Sheffield carols both at festivals and in the community where I grew up. I now live in Sheffield where I run three sessions a week, playing mainly Irish tunes on the uilleann pipes, as well as plenty of singing and some English tunes. I also teach one night a week with Soundpost in Sheffield.

I'm a full-time professional musician offering 30–60 minute lessons in folk singing and tin whistle. With experience performing and teaching in both traditional and classical styles, I graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2022 with a degree in Music and History. I aim to create relaxed, enjoyable lessons that are tailored to your goals, whether you're just starting out or looking to build confidence and expand your repertoire.
