About Joe
I'm Joe, and guitar has taken me to places I never expected.
Not just physically — though it has done that too — but creatively, emotionally, professionally. It opened doors I didn't even know existed when I first picked one up. And the longer I've been playing and teaching, the more convinced I am that it can do the same for anyone willing to put in the time.
I've played across a wide range of styles over the years. Not because I couldn't settle on one, but because I genuinely love how different genres pull completely different things out of the instrument — and out of you. A blues phrase hits differently than a fingerpicked folk melody. A tight funk rhythm requires a completely different mindset than a classical piece. Exploring all of that made me a better player and, I think, a much better teacher.
I work with all kinds of students. Age doesn't matter, background doesn't matter, what kind of music you love doesn't matter. What matters is that you actually want to learn — and that you show up ready to work.

I structure my lessons around one simple idea: everything we do should have a clear purpose.
Not just "practice this chord" but why that chord, why now, and how it connects to what you're actually trying to play. That context is what makes things stick. It's what turns practice from something you feel like you should do into something you genuinely want to do.
We start by getting clear on where you're headed. Your favorite songs, your favorite artists, the sounds that made you want to pick up a guitar in the first place. That becomes our compass. Everything — technique, theory, ear training — gets connected back to that.
Progress is consistent and visible here. You'll know exactly what you've achieved and exactly what's next. No wandering, no wondering if you're actually improving. You will be, and you'll feel it.
